Some owners say you can get by with All Seasons and X-Drive, but my opinion on em is they don't do anything very well. Suggest you get snows (even with Xdrive). We got our son an older 325xi that has all seasons. I'll only have them on the car when it's warm and no snow..He'll be getting some Blizzaks, Nokia or Dunlop Winter Sports this Fall for sure.

Also suggest you get a separate set of wheels for your snow shoes. Bad idea to be messing with mounting and remounting tires twice a year.

I bought a used set and saved a ton of dough..Keep an eye out for them in classifieds. Mine are Pirelli Scorpion Run-Flat snows mounted on OZ rims..Previous owner loved em, can't give you personal impression yet.

Tire Rack has always been good value for me..Talk to Mason there if you don't have a contact - very knowledgable and works to find the best value for you. Not sure your going to get by with 18" for less than $2500 with run-flats. Other option is oem set from dealer, but that is going to be big, big bucks..

G/L!

could somebody make a short review on the all season tyres options (on both summer and winter uses) ?

As posted above, is it in fact not very good for all season, or at contrary, a good idea to avoid investing again in a separate set of tyres / rims for the winter ?

The hard thing will be finding tires and wheels that fit. I am very happy with my snow tires and wheels; great performance, not expensive, and I think they look pretty cool for a 2nd pair of shoes. You can check it out in my thread:
