Travelling for 10 days..Disconnect the battery?

Hi All,

Hope all are doing well....Just a quick q...I will be away for araound 10 days..do i need to disconnect my car battery? Or just leave it like this? will it get dead for not using the car ? What does BMW manual say about leaving the car unused for sometime?

Dont disconnect..your x6 will be just fine and same well after 2 weeks!

what about 4 weeks? I do have battery charger. Should it charges battery before or after? thanks.

In my other cars, anything longer than 4 weeks, I put the trickle charger on. Mostly because I am lazy and don't want to set up everything again.

I'd leave it. When u get back if the battery has lost enuf power the digital clock will need resetting. Then plug the charger in. Dependin on ur production date some 2008s had the wrong battery installed by the factory
If it works don't fix it!

You don't need to disconnect battery, I was 3months off and in mean time engine was started 2 times and when I came back everything was just fine.

Wow 2 whole weeks? I would put the car on blocks and drain all the fluids too.

I would not worry about it if i go for less than 2 months.

by the way is it a new body kit there on your x6 chuck?
