Hi everyone,
I was thinking of getting the Weathertech side window deflectors / visors for my white 2011 X5 35d. I have body color matched bumpers, fender flares, side markers and rocker panels, gloss black 214 's and black performance grill. I couldn't find any pics of any E70 with window visors so I'm not sure how it would look. And would the fact that there are no pics online indicate that they do not go? Wes |

Depends
I installed a set on my 2011 328, they fit into the window channel, increased the interior wind noise to annoying levels, so I removed them. I purchased a "no name" set for my X5 that attaches to the window frame via 3M double tape. On my X5 there is no wind noise increase at all. I drive 75-80 mph daily to work and am please with the fit and finish of these "no name" visors. Plus got all four visors with shipping for less than half of the cost of a set Weather Techs.

X5 is safely tucked into garage as current storm, threats of golfball sized hail, passes. Hopefully, temps will rise back up and I can wash and take pics in the next couple of days.

Mind the pics, I need a car wash but can't wash just yet because I just had some parts painted less than a week ago. I had the black trim on bumpers/quarters/side markers/rocker panels painted body color matched. Also painted the silver trim on bottom of front and rear bumper matching white. |

your truck looks clean.. I am not really fan of how x5 looks without the roof rails but your truck looks good.. Are those OEM gloss black 214 wheels or you got your factory wheels painted?

Yes
I would say yes!!! I got mine from getbmwparts.com
Yes it does suffer a little wind noise, however, who wouldn't listen to music? plus, the purpose for the visor is to open window when there is rain. If and when you open the window you will expect wind noise anyways. Why does it matter? Just a thought I'd like to share |

Just got a 2017 xDrive35i in white....I’m currently having the same issue and can’t decide whether or not to put visors on. I do agree they aesthetically look ugly on an x5 (imo), but what’s the alternative on rainy days? Does everyone default to opening the sunroof on an angle? i really can’t stand rain drops falling all inside the door panel.
I just think it looks much cleaner without the visors, but I’m so used to them on my NISSAN and wanted to add them to my new vehicle. |
