X6 Hybrid concern

Hi Guys,
Im just about a day or two away from purchasing an X6 hybrid.
Im dealing with a local dealership and also called in another bmw dealer about an hour away from me. I got a great deal with my local sales people, but the dealers about an hour away told me that on the 2011 X6 hybrid, which they have sold only one of, had major, I mean MAJOR problems and bmw had to buy the car back. Has any one else also heard about any X6 hybrid issues--- Im literally like a day or two away and am getting really cold feet. Any help I would appreciate it!
thanks

Rumor has it 2011 is the last year for this vehicle (note there is a 2012 version of the 35, 50, and M X6 already).

My dealer told me that you would NEVER want to own one of these out of warranty as a BMW engineer told him that the transmission is $90K alone to replace. The same person also said that BMW loses $30K on each X6 Hybrid they sell.

Now, no clue if that $90K is correct, but seeing as the transmission in this thing is unique to the car AND they don't sell too many of these, I would not be surprised if something like the trans could be outrageously expensive.

In the end, the 50 is quicker, gets better highway mileage and is less expensive. I would look there (and I am).

i have 2009 x6 50i. i was thinking to trade in for x6 hybrid, but after i did my research, i changed my mind, the car is heavier- it will not perform same as other x6- what's the point to own a bmw, then.
the lease payment is higher, i dont dare to own one of hybrid at this point.
if u found a lot of problems out there, m.....
why bring trouble to youself?

Hello-- thanks a ton for the reply--
That was an odd apple in the bunch from what Ive heard from other dealers-- The thing is, the lease prices on the hybrid are just really attractive and it comes standard with every option, when you equip the X6 5.0 with the same options, the lease is like $100 more per month!, The hybrid preforms quite well form what im understanding- 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds. correct me if I am wrong

That's interesting. I didn't realize the hybrid had such good lease rates.
