Running Board difference
Hello I am about to order an X6 this week and I was wondering if there is any difference between running boards under options for 300$ and the aluminum running boards under accessories for 571$? Please help!

Great question, I don't think there is a difference other than factory installation.

That's exactly what the dealer's salesman said when I called him today. But BMW representative claims that Running Boards are just made out of plastic without the aluminum. Now who should I trust lol...

I'm on my second X6, both ordered with $300 running board option that are aluminum. If you dont get the option, they are black plastic.

Doesn't the running board option get you an actual running board vs. the sort of black thing you can step on to get into the car? I'm curious because on the X6s I've driven with the running board, I always hit the back of my leg on it getting out, but not on the one without the running boards.

It is a little wider and probably will get the back of your pants dirty in the winter if you get bad weather. Probably an inch different.
