Aircondition start-up question

Is there a way to disable the air condition from automatically turning on when starting-up the car?

I've searched with no luck.

The air con button, or adjusting the fan speed turns the auto off, set to zero will stop it altogether.

I am not sure if this is the same question that sausage asked.

This is the scenario:
1. My AC is off, Auto climate is off, and I also turned the fan from one bar to off.
2. I turn off the engine and lock the car.
3. When I start the engine again, the fan gets turned back on automatically (1 bar).

I remember in the 3 series loaner, the car seems to remember my last setting. If the fans were turned off while I left the car, it will stay that way the next time i enter.

But for the X6, it seems to "default" to on.

Anyone have the same experience?

Try turning it off then selecting the seat memory to your fob. It might remember to set it to off, just a guess.

I'm facing the same problems also. If you turn off the engine for a short while, and restarts it, the AC will remain "OFF". If your car been shut down for some times, and when you starts your car back up, the AC will be "ON" again. I sent my car in for AB to check and see they can reprogram it, but the result still the same and they can't change the setting at all....

I am pretty sure it's a memory option for the key fob. I remember when I was picking up my car in SC, the advisor set it up for me including the A/C setting for each key fob. I don't remember how to adjust it but I suspect you have to try to hit the memory button with the A/C off. If not, there's got to be something in the manual...

I searched high and low on the manual already and still couldn't find anything about it.

Same here in the X5... Tried everything. Changed Auto setting to off or 0. Turned system off and pressed memory button to save changes. Nada... Nothing... It's rather annoying to have to keep turning the air system off after starting the car... Never had this issue in my '08 335...

Ya, this issue seems to be only for the Xs. I tried it in the 3 series and it was ok.

I asked the dealer and they can't even follow my question.

Mine remembers the last setting, regardless of how long I left the car off. When I start it again, if the A/C was off the last time, then the car starts with the A/C off.
It also remembers different settings for me and my wife when she drives the car.

I think newer models do not remember last setting
My 2008 335i used to remember this setting, but 2012 X6 is not
Climate control does look a bit different from previous generation
May be that's how it is now

Had to bring the thread back from dead, as didn't want to start a new one. Had anybody a success with this issue? It is annoying for sure to turn it off every time.

Put the A/C in Off before turning off the engine, it should not start automatically
