Tint advise

I'm going to a local shop today to get tints, what do you guys suggest I get ?

I was thinking: 20% on the back & 35% front

my wife wants more like limo on the back and 20% front

The rear is already tinted some from the factory, so 20% in the rear is plenty, I'd say 35% with the factory tint would be like pure 20%. Factory tint with 20%, would be limo like 10-5%...

Up front, always check your local laws... But 35 is a good amount, I rock 20% all around in my other car. have for years... 35 is really the minimum IMO.

Well, just for reference, we had 30% installed on the fronts to match the OEM rear tint and it looks great. (my thread is in the X5 pics forum). If you want to go darker, go for it, but keep in mind, nighttime visibility gets harder.

I think the 30% is perfect, no darker than I would want to go... To each his own. The key is to get a quality material and a really good installer. Llumar FormulaOne Pinnacle carries a lifetime warranty. That's great for me.

Thanks for the feedback guys - Looks like wifey made her own decision without involving me, she came back with 5% rears, 20% front and a strip in the windshield... feels like a dance club inside

Now I need to decide what wheels to get ... I love the 214s but I think they're heavy (I drove my friends diesel with them and it didnt feel as brisk as ours w the 18s)

The 214s are actually some of the lighter OEM 20s wheels.
