X6M owners step in .. '12 X6m vs. '13 Jeep SRT8

I currently own a '13 Jeep SRT8 and bought it new and have since put 10k miles on it. I love the truck but there aren't any significant power upgrades available as Mopar won't unlock the tune for the Hemi motor. I've found a '12 X6M with 28k miles for sale in my area and I'm considering trading for it.

Am I nuts??? or can the X6m with help from Dinan make my grin even larger?? I would like to be under 12 sec 1/4 mile and close to 4 sec 0-60.. the jeep is a blast but I like to mod a bit to keep things fun.

personally, i wouldn't do what you are considering, wait for a blower from hennessey or something like that and you would be more than happy with the power.

Also dinan tune won't get you below 12s, renntech are the only once who did a 11.99 after many tried. but with downpipes and tune it should be easy to hit

I think the X6m already is high fours for 0-60. Perfect conditions of course.

I read where one of the mags had the X6M or maybe X5M at 4.0 0-60 but I think they all are around 12.5 for the quarter stock.

Get the M. Many more tuning options and potential for a forced induction engine. Don't necessarilly lock yourself into Dinan. Search around.

And yes, 4.0 to 60 and mid 12s stock for an M.

I have the BPM tune as well as the Eisenmann Race. I don't have any official times but right around 4 sec to 60 is on point.

My velos tuned X5M got this time in 0-60. Not too shabby.

I rented an SRT for a week in Denver and have also driven an X6M around BMW's test track in Spartanburg...the SRT is nice for an American truck, but honestly, the two vehicles are in different classes...for a true driver's car the BMW is hard to beat - the power out of that M was incredible, and the driving dynamics of that machine was truly impressive...of course, the BMW will be more temperamental long term and cost more $$ to upkeep...you owe it to yourself to at least drive an M and see/feel the difference...

I really like the SRT but can tell you the X5/X6M is a different world in terms of total ownership experience...torque, quality, tech, etc.

At the end of the day, it's still a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I think the new gen Cherokee is a well done vehicle. Either look for a blower for your jeep or get the X6M. Tuning/upgrade options for the X5/6M are much more available and quite large.
