parking brake stuck

i park my x5, suddenly i could not move my car, put to gear , it doesnot move, if i presss gas , it will skid, parking brake message doesnot go out from dispaly, is it parking brake control unit faulty.i lift up my rear wheels it , it stuck completely. even the emergency paking brake release wont help.

Are you parked outdoors in freezing weather. It may be frozen and bound up.

I believe there's a manual release, tool included.

Yea there has to be a manual release, i know there's a manual release for the gas cap in the back so there has to be one for the parking brake.

What year is your X5? I have the 2011, my engine would shut off (due to a bad electronic distribution box) and it will not allow me to change into neutral or release the e-brake... (Great work BMW e-shifter). They shipped the X5 with the tool that manually puts the car into neutral in EU, but not to the U.S. The lock is located beneath your cup holder sleeves, but without the tool, it's useless (it's looks like a slot for a 1/2 drive).
