Re 2012 X5 Std audio
Imho, it really sucks big time this is the first out of 5 BMWs i did not get premium audio and got taken aback with surprisingly lousy audio. Is there any ways to improve it?

i'm in the same boat with my 2011 x5 and working on a solution.....its going to be a bit involved. here's a quick run down of the low cost / easier install:
coding of the cic to output hi-fi, hardness mod of the cic, jbl ms-8 (processor/amp), running of speaker/power cables, replace stock 6 speakers (bsw drivers), installation of new center channel (bmw parts & bsw drivers). you should be able to get all the parts for around $1500 and diy yourself or have an installer help. from what i can gather...this should give you a much better sound than the l7 setup (less the missing rear pillar speakers). personally i'm looking to go another route with high end speakers and a way to interface the MOST digital network and higher powered amps. |

I have read good reviews of the BSW upgrade. It just does the speakers. Although availability has been sporadic.
