Just crossed 100k yesterday and the Parking warning on 😂😂
It happened with the brake engaged. I manually released the brake so that I can drive it home. However, the warning sign stays on. I've tried to soft reset it (5sec push&pull), and also pulled out the fuse. Not working on both ways. I asked a mechanic to read the ECU and got the 600E and 6011 error code... I've followed the steps as the link below: https://www.youcanic.com/wiki/bmw-el...ke-malfunction Symptoms on my case: BMW parking brake malfunction Yellow PARK light stays on all the time Fault code 6011 and 600E in ECU EEPROM DATA Park brake light will not go off, even when the car is moving. Orange Brake Light ON when starting the car. Parking brake can't be engaged. Is that possible to fix it before open the brake actuator? Thanks!

Nope. Buy a new actuator. Very Common failure on e70s cars tons of threads out there. You can buy a clone off of eBay for $300. Install takes a few hours. Done this one before.... you can do an ecu code clear and get rid of the error, but if you use it, the error will come back.
Theses power actuated brakes are so stupid in modern cars. Take a simple reliable manually operated cable and peddle or handle and replace it with a failure prone electrical system that costs a ton of money to fix. For what end... can’t even use the parking brake to do a j turn anymore,,, |

osik88 You shouldn't have to reprogram anything if you're just replacing the actuator.
****EDIT**** TIS references reprogramming when replacing the actuator. In ISTA the procedure is as follows: -Service Functions -Chassis and Suspension -Parking Brake -Initial Operation/Functional Check Last edited by jbash87; 08-05-2023 at 10:23 AM.. Reason: I was wrong |

Hello guys... small question:
I recently got myself a 2012 e70 facelifted unit (european diesel, no DPF or that nonsense)... this LSI have revised parking break actuators or it is the same thing (as in, it will eventually fail)? |

If by LSI you mean LCI (Life Cycle Impulse. 2010 and newer) then yes. They will still have issues. Mine is a 2012 and will fail again. I've been repairing mine each time but I may not be able to to repair it again.
