Fix It Ticket today - front license plate mounting options

Any advice on options, other than drilling bumper for front license plate?

There is a folding option that doesn't require any drilling. There is a few good alternatives.

Hook the bottom license holder to the lower mesh grille, and tie the top holder with tie-wraps also to the lower mesh grille. try to place it in the middle and closer to the top end of the grille. Worked perfect for me, and got my ticket dismissed.

On my Z4 I used duct tape folded so that it was sticky on both sides. I drive to the police station and before pulling in, I taped the license plate on the front bumper and parked. Couldn't see the tape at all. Police officer signed it off, I drove around the block and pulled off the plate.

My neighbor is a Police Officer. He signed off on ticket.

I guess all I have to do now is go to court & pay fine?

No just mail the signed ticket in, and you don't owe a fine now. That's how a "fix it ticket" works, if u fix it...there is no fine. Glad u got it taken care of.

I make sure it is NOT drilled. I will never buy another vehicle unless it is NOT drilled
I carry the front plate in the DMV bag under the floormat in the rear

if I get pulled for it(which rarely happens if there is not a black plate mount)
I just tell them the dealer said it was on B/O and the plate is right here.
The cop takes a look at the bumper and doesnt even see holes drilled and says have a nice day.

I used to have a plate mount and not use the front plate and I would get pulled all the time

When there is not any mount, I guess its out of sight, out of mind

So I called the CHP. Said I should wait for court notice, then send signed ticket with fee to court.

Takes 3-4 weeks to get court notice.
