BMW X6 Paint Defect
Hi Guys,
Just looking for some opinions on an issue i'm having with the paintwork on my X6, I bought a 2 year old X6 in December 2010 and noticed a staining on the paintwork, the car only had 5k miles when i bought it and it was an ex BMW demo car, When i brought it into my local BMW garage they had a paint inspector inspect it and check the history of the car, it turned out the car had its wing mirror painted and wheel replaced and the paintwork sanded down by the BMW distributor in the UK, He also said that the only way to fix the paint staining was to respray both sides of the car which BMW will do, i'm not happy about this as i feel this will devalue the car, the BMW garage that i purchased the car say it won't and that because the problem is being fixed they are washing there hands with it, What do you guys think about this? Should i let them respray my car or leave it with the defects? |

How bad are the stains? If they bother you, get it fixed. If you are taking to a reputable shop, you won't be able to tell the difference. But I would only do it if the staining really annoys you.

That X6 looks pretty clean to me... I cannot notice any issues with your paint job... I understand if it is a broblem for you though, we can all be very protective of how our cars look, feel and drive, but from a spectator's POV, that is one nice looking car.
