Leaving on Road Trip and Front Brake Pad Service Light is on?

Hello,

I have a BMW X5 2013 that I bought 2 years ago. I am about to leave and drive to Minnesota today. It is about a 4 hour trip. My Service light went on and says 600 miles front brake service due. Will I make the trip? is it just a warning that they set or is that the actual car telling me I need brake pads? I am worried that driving it on this long road trip might be bad. I can get new pads when I get back. Will I make it?

My brake pad warning light come on take to a shop they phone my back told me still have 50% life left....

Go look at the pad left on calipers directly. If the light just went on then you are probably fine for the trip.
