I don't have it working. I don't have MyInfo displayed in iDrive. I need to take ti to the dealler and possibly have it enabled.

However, the convenience plan is not required. The standard Assist plan included with your vehicle includes the google maps upload.

I did an update services and myinfo showed up but nothing shows up in it.

Did you see MyInfo before slecting update services? Maybe that is my problem.

Also, do you have your email address registered with Assist?

Nothing will show up until you send a map location. I assume that part works, it is just not reaching the vehicle?

No it wasn't there before doing update services. I was reading the manual and noticed that there was an update services entry. That's what made me try it, it spins for a little bit. after that the myinfo showed up but still haven't been able to get any maps I've sent from google.

I just ran the update services and no MyInfo shows up.

Now I will try to send an address. I will let you know how is goes.

Update, I sent an address and it showed up just fine.

I wonder how many dealers actually know you have to run "Update Services" to get MyInfo to show up.

Now that MyInfo is working/enabled, I am happy.

4 months with the X6 and not one problem. I don't consider MyInfo an issue but more operational understanding.

Glad you guys got it working...it is probably one of my favorite features...I use it almost every day.
One neat feature that you may or may not have discovered yet is that when you are about to send to your car on your home computer, you can type in the name of the person, for example, if you are typing in a friend's address, and it shows up that way in the car, when you add it to your address book...really cool, and saves a lot of time entering that info in the car...
Just type it in over the top address line, and that is it...

Good at least I'm on the right track. Query to dealer wasn't much help , first response was only bmw assist could download maps.
After I sent them the links( and pics) to the bmw FAQ page their response was they had heard this was going to be available but hadn't received any bulletin on this.
So I think I'm on my own, I will contact BMW assist directly and work with them.
When I get it working, sure its minor (maybe even something in the sequence I'm doing to access it)will post update.

The maps don't show up in your car, only the addresses that are sent via Google Maps from your home PC...not sure if this is what you meant, but just addresses are sent to the car...

When you send from google, does google show the message was sent successfully? If not, this indicates the wrong address is on file with Assist.

If it sends correctly, have you made your inititial Assist call to ensure the system works?

google responses with " message sent successfully...."

When I was at the dealer we pushed the sos button and I gave them a new password and an email account, does than constitute initial call ?

when you get maps(addresses) does anything show up in myinfo ?

Yes, the address and the notes you entered.

Call Assist and make sure they have the service enabled for your account.

Ok nothing is showing up in the myinfo, so must be issue with bmw assist. I will call them and have them check what account has enabled.

I click "I" go to bmw service settings, enable asisst service. That did update of services. I have a myinfo listed but I can not select it.

so at this point when you send directions to your car where does it show up ?
I looked under navigation , nothing there , address book is empty ( which seems odd,would have thought it would have loaded from my phone).

So am I doing something wrong or is this broke ?

Although I have not confirm this, I stumble on something.

I entered via google maps a "Target" store as a destination and sent it successfully to the car.

I then tried a normal address, with no business name, and it did not work.

I recall reading in some thread somewhere that only business addresses would be sent. If this is true it makes sense to what I am seeing.

Folks, try a valid business.

all of the addresses I sent to my car for the last 3 days are for residences, friends , daughters, etc they all showed up.

I haven't tried using one as navigation yet figured if they were there that meant they were usable.

OK I ran 4 tests. Two business and two residential. All four worked.

My only guess is the previous try at sending a non business address did not work for whatever reason. Maybe my car was parked in the garage and did not get full cell service. It does appear that Assist only sends the address once and will not retry t resend if the first attempt fails.

Also a gotcha in the google maps part, if you put in a valid email address that is not your bmw assist email it will still say it sent the message successfully. I tried this when I was trying to debug my issue. The bogus email address I entered in google maps received a message back from bmw assist stating it was not a valid bmw assist email.
