X6 Manual - the gas cap cover locks when. .

turning the alarm on. .

Anybody checked this? I didn't . . Still cannot figure out why German cars have this system. .you can flip the gas cap cover from outside. .anybody can. . the Japanese cars have a switch under the dash for releasing the flap.

I don't know why they use the central locking for the gas cap either. Makes no sense.

If a lady pulls into full service station at night to have the attendant pump her gas, she has to unlock all the doors.

Which is stupid, maybe there's a little child in the back. . and there are some creepy looking dudes around the gas station. The japanese system is better. .once you close the gas cap, it's locked. . no need to put the alarm on the car. Of, course, if kids are in the car, you should better turn it on. I turn it, anyway, ,even if I am alone. .My kid is so far away from me.. .

Gas Cap Cover

If there are unsavory characters around at night, why would a "Lady " be out having gas pumped?
Gas fumes are toxic, why would u bring kids along to fill up or allow them to open the doors during fill up?

Not so! According to manual, m'lady can lock the doors & tailgate, if she wishes, by engaging the Door Lock button on the dash ( @ centre air vents location), which leaves the fuel filler cover open, for the full serve attendant to perform his duty.
The lady's virtue will not be compromised!

I knew it! How can you even think of comparing a CAR (BMW)
with something on four wheels from Japan!?

You'll be amazed. But I still use and care about the Mazda. And drive it. , ,an wash it.. .and tomorrow I have to replace the battery on it. And bought a nice Bosch 5 stars silver battery for it (100 Euros). I know, it's so much different now. But to each one its own purpose. I had some minor bad feeelings about the Mazda after one week only in the X6, but you cannot blame your wife for not being what Pamela Anderson used to look like.
