Put a deposit on 2012 X6m, question:

Have a deposit down on a 2012 x6m CPO. I think I got a great deal at 60k even with 4 years and 70k miles left. I was cross shopping between this and an m3 (strange, i know), but ultimately will go with this assuming it all works as planned.

Question: How is the performance in the winter? I guess ill need winter wheels/tires? Anyone know a good deal to get a set? the X6M replaces both a e90 335 and an suv so I need it all year around.

thanks!!!

Pirelli Scorpion Ice/snow tires will do you wonders. you can toss them on the stockers then look into getting a new set of wheels for the summer. These things are a blast in the snow. You picked a great year round DD.

I'm in the same boat..just bought a 2012 X6M in June but have winter approaching here in WI. Trying to decide between doing the Pirelli Ice/Snow tires on the stock staggered wheels or doing a winter wheel/tire combo. Jimshorts, does your X5M handle the snow and ice well with the staggered snow tires?

I had no issues at all, we had a really harsh winter in Buffalo as well and got through everything!!! Never had traction issues, only time I got stuck was when there was a 4 foot wall of snow at the end of my driveway. I might have some pics of that sitting around.

Found them.

Thing is a blast in the snow... gonna miss it but the jeep should work just as well if not better.

Wow, that's crazy! What kind of Jeep did you end up getting? And thanks for the response.

Congrats. I traded in my '09 M3 for a '14 X6M last month. Loving it. Pirelli Scorpions showed up last week - going to stick them on the car probably around November. Glad to hear it handles well in the snow once you get them on there. I'll probably just do the tire swap during the seasons to start before I pick up some new wheels. Wife is already in a high hover on me spending money on cars.
