20 way Multi Contour Seat
How many people have them and do you like them? Are they worth ordering on a Premium edition X5?

I have them on my '09 X5 MSport. Saying "best option" is a bit subjective of course... but I really really like them. You spend all your time inside the vehicle, and the extra comfort is amazing - especially on a longer trip.

One of the best available options
Besides these seats, the active ventilated seats and active cruise control are must haves if you are in your X5 for long periods of time...

...and if you're in it for a really really really long time - the sleep number bed option!

I have them. I'm not as geeked over it as others on here because I simply set it and forget it. I don't think it's a better upgrade than, say, the premium sound system, but I'd rather have premium than the other stuff. |

I'ts just glorified seats. I dont' think they are THAT much of a big deal. It not like it's the premium sound vs the stock sound. |

Not!!! I rode in a Camry for 2 hours. I was glad the trip was over. 8 Hours in my X5 is nothing. Its true that BMW seats are firm, but that is a requirement for good support and long term comfort.
I've had BMW base seats that are good, and sport seats too, but the multi-contour can't be beat. The additional adjustments are nice, but its the combination of comfort and lateral support are the icing on the cake.

Have them in mine, it was a must-have option. I've never regretted it, and would never buy one w/out them.

Bought the X5 for the seats...
I actually bought the X5 over the Cayenne turbo largely because I fell in love with the active ventilated seats. I would not buy another car without them and when I test drove an M3 I was bummed to find they were not available. My favorite 2 must-have options on the X5 are the HUD which I would never want to be without on any car and the 20 way seats. I live in a hot climate so I actually use the ventilation quite a bit as well as the active 'massage' feature on any longer drive.

Common American misconception. Fluffy, comfy, cushy, soft seats feel great when you first plop down on them, but as said above - go for an 8 hour drive sometime! You'll be lucky if you can get out of the car. BMW seats are deliberatly firm. The X5 is probably the most comfortable vehicle I've had, and perfect for long trips. The multi-contour seats add to the comfort by giving you extra adjustment options. You'll also notice that crushed velour is not an option for BMWs. Enjoy your Buick Riviera if you like, but I'll take BMW seats anytime!

Thank you everyone and I have a good feeling I will thank myself for getting them after the first ride. I have a nice 50 mile ride home from the dealer to adjust the seat the way I want it.
