Active seat function
Hi All:
I have a 2011 X5d with the active ventilated seats. What great comfort ! What a great truck err SAV. I recently drove from Phoenix to the Finger Lakes region of New York and back. Drove 950 miles in one day twice and felt great at the end of the day. My question: when I activate (no pun intended) the active seat function I feel what I assume to be a air bladder inflating under the rear part of my butt. It then moves a cheek up and down alternating from left to right sides. Then when turned off it retreats downward. Is this how it is supposed to work ? My SA did not know and I have not been able to find a thread to answer this question. Thanks in advance for all advise. Doug |

Tried it on a recent 5 hour drive. Felt uncomfortable at first so I left it off. After about 2 hours I turned it on. At the 3 hour mark I needed to stop - bad. Bad because I was getting numb. Got out of car and could barely walk.
Compared to when I drove home from the factory (two days) and did not know the feature existed (let's just say that PCD does not cover everything). Was happy to be home, but could walk when I got out of the car. In short, I will never use the darn feature again.
