Are your exhaust tips getting this dirty ?
My X5 is not a diesel, yet my tips are always really dirty. I have to scrub this residue off once a week. Is this normal for the rest of you people ??

Holy Crap! You mean to tell me "that I'm not the only one that cleans the exhaust tips"?
The new square tips are even worse because there's more surface area..which makes dirty ones stand out even more. By the way, it's shitty chrome too... not the triple plated stuff. I Have always used "Never Dull", which is not very abrasive, and I think I have already gone through the chrome. It's all the oil the motor burns! |

Sounds more like that you're teaching them the lessons that they won't learn at school. |

Obviously you didn't make it up to Thompson then. We've had weather like that and I've never had an issue with mine starting. It does like to throw CEL's however when that cold. |

Yeah. I have the 3.0i engine and my tips get dirty. I just a metallic cloth and solution. Looks "like new" by the time I'm done cleaning them, so, it's really not a problem. It's as normal as brake dust - just give it attn when u clean ur car.
