Odd Radio Static Issue
Hi guys,
Need a sanity check. I just had to take the E70 in because a check engine light came on. They diagnosed it as failed O2 sensors that they are ordering to replace. Today, on my ride into the office, I noticed that for certain radio stations when I have the turn signal on there is intermittent static in the radio that corresponds with the turn signal. It's not all stations or at all locations, but it's definitely created by the turn signal. Now I'm obviously suspicious of what was done at the dealer. I looked back at the work order and the car was hooked to a battery charger, the codes were pulled, and battery voltages were verified at the O2 sensors. I can't imagine how that could create this issue, but I'm suspicious seeing this has never happened in the previous 10 months I've owned the car. I was thinking its some type of grounding issue, but I'd love to be prepared if the dealer puts up a fight. Any experience with this issue or thoughts? Joe |

Good luck with that, Joe, and if that was at Perillo, now I'm nervous-I have an appt. there in a couple weeks! If indeed at Perillo, ask for the service manager, Darren. He's been a good egg (thus far)...

I was wondering if they unhooked or removed the faulty sensors in the meantime and maybe that was doing something to the electrical system. Not the end of the world, but seems like it could become a rabbit hole of service visits |

I think you're on to something with the grounding. With your warranty, nothing should be a struggle to get fixed.
