I tried "touch screen" on lexus (Rx 350) and it sucks. Imo, if the quality of the touch screen is not as good as the ipad... just dont do it then ...so BMW wins !

No trailing arms! Adjustable rear suspension! Why can't BMW do this, even on the M3

The Lexus looks like a Kia. These cars are getting uglier.

Its looks ok because the new 3 looks pretty boring. I honestly don't like either. Although I agree we need cars to be safer when designing around pedestrian collision safety but this ends up making cars look like catfish instead of sharks. The old 80's and 90's BMW's had very aggressive from ends and were fabulous but prolly would cut you in half if one ran into you while you were walking across the street.

I know everyone has their own taste but com'on son! The f30 is a average looking car at best. This car by no means turns heads. If you rebadge the f30 to another brand would some of u have the same sentiment? When I first saw the f30 in pics it was a scale of 1-10 a 4... That's right, definitely a no buy. When I saw it in person it looked a lot better. still its Like a 6 tops...

My first impressions of the q50 was that its a pretty nice car. And in the pics it has potential for a buy. The real pics from the show I would rate it a 6... In person who knows? It may or may not be much better than the pics but ill be hard pressed to believe its not at least .5 points better and it being better looking than the boring f30. The people who saw it in person all had great things to say about its looks.

What I find funny is that BMW dominates the segment when it comes to design, hell they may have even invented the segment, and it shows when you look around. Just drive down the road and you have to be blind if you do not see that just about every sports sedan takes queues from BMW. Every other manufacturer wants to copy the essence of the most admired and revered sports seden. The problem is that you just can't bottle the magic pixie dust that is BMW.

I think the Q50 looks great, with the exception of that bloated grill. A lot of it has to do with the photos though. They use wide angle lenses to take these indoor shots, and the asshats never do any correction, so we get these bubble distorted photos.

I'm still thrown off by the naming conventiion. Did they decide on the naming convention based on sticker price?

That's a bit delusional. BMW do have a fairly coherent design language (better than MB and worse than Audi) and they generally make great cars, but come on - bottled pixie dust?

it's far better than old designs from Infinity, but still F30 can eat it and burp easily...

I've been called far worse than delusional - But you must admit that BMW is the most copied design. Audi's were a piece of crap starting with the LS-100 and they are still a piece of crap, as evidenced by their anchor like resale value. But to the design comment, I would say you are in a world of your own with the boring Audi design. Almost every comparo know to youtube points this out.

Thank God for BMW designers. That Infinity looks like the designer had a really bad inner ear infection or a really bad case of the hiccups.

Yes I do, it has the enduring Spyder look, but to your point, it's base price is more than 2X that of my average Joe 328i and fully tricked out it's north of $190K.

If I could afford to spend $115K, it would be a tough decision between the BMW M6 Coupe or the Mercedes CL-550. It would definitely require some serious test drive compares.

^ CL 63 has no chance near M6, same for the CL 550 near the updated (engine) 650
I'm not impressed at all by Q50's engine, + BMW offers some great Performance options (including brakes ).
Once the 4 series will be released we might see some updated engines too, so I don't see some interesting results for rivals...

Like the exterior design but not a fan of the large size touch screen inside. The F30 is pretty either, but the interior of the F30 looks better to my eyes. I see quite a lot of bias comments but this is a BMW forum so what can I say lol.

Probably because they are both 4 door sedans, and in profile there really ain't much one can do, especially with passenger collision reg's.

The Q50 looks nothing like the F30.

Since it's still a single turbo you would say "T", single T, for "Turbo".
Perhaps you don't understand what a "twin scroll" turbo is.
Plenty of info on the interwebs for your to research.
Pretty cool tech for turbocharging.

Interior is a bit disappointing but that touch screen thing is pretty cool.

Those people who are mocking Japanese design you have no idea what you're talking about.
