BMW performance ECU upgrade? Worth it?
I have been thinking of adding this to my build before it's to late. Does anyone have this? Any feedback, is it worth it or should I just hold off and go Dinan?
Thanks. |

Plus side they wont be able to pull you on warrenty if using it. whereas aftermarket could leave you open to rejected claims on engine and driveline... (all jmo) |

Just get the ESS flash with the handheld programmer... You can easily flash back to stock when you bring it to the dealer..
Power is amazing..!!

So I just got back from dealer. I was told that the performance upgrade is a replacement DME, though the service advisor I (regularly) deal with has never done one before. I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday for the upgrade. Wish me luck

I got the 7RR from the dealer when I ordered my car. I wound up getting an aftermarket tune anyway.

Is this only available in the US and for petrol versions? I am in the UK and have a 35d and when i mentioned remaps the tech (who was very helpful) said be careful because once its mapped the key reader will tell the service centre who will then do all they can to get out of warranty claims unless its the BMW Performance stuff but i dont see anything on it here.
Am waiting for BMW UK to get back to me. |
