Honestly if you find an x5 35i that has been well maintained in the past id say go for it. The biggest thing you want to check is recalls.

What mileage are you looking to get one at?

Last year of the E70 was one of the reasons I got a 2013. I've had relatively few issues in 43K miles of driving mine.

Hi - New Member here. My '13 X5 xDrive35i has been trouble free for it's 67,717 mile life in NC. Two recalls completed: Driver's airbag replaced (Takata recall), and front propshaft replaced. BMW's maintenance program gave me only 5 oil changes. I had them give me an additional 6 oil changes that I paid for. (still under BMW warranty and BMW maintenance program upgrade)

Reference 4.8 vs 35i:
Our previous X5 was a 2006 4.4L V8. Our 2013 X5 35i has the twin-turbo 3L. It is much faster than the '06 4.4L V8, and gets better mpg

The 35i is not a twin turbo. Twin scrolls, single turbo.
