Where to buy a replacement ashtray insert?

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement center console ashtray to replace the one I have, which has a broken plastic tab at the bottom of the tray, which holds it in place, when not broken. I tried Ebay, BMW dealership and all that I am able to find is an ashtray replacement insert, but without the clear see-through plastic for ambient light. I was wondering if anyone else out there had to deal with same issue and was able to find the exact oem replacement with clear see-through plastic? Thank you

I have gone through the same exact issues following replacement under warranty.....the only replacement part listed does not have the light lens and was told by my service advisor that ere is nothing further they can do. I swapped the rear to the from and put the one without the lens in the rear.

It is very strange that even BMW dealership cannot get the same part ordered. The only one that's available is a solid plastic replacement, without the clear lens. Which would be just fine; however, at night you loose the "locating light" effect, which is one of the reasons why I bought a BMW and not some other cheap-made car in the first place.

Ended up using crazy glue. Not the best solution, but worked

VRS X5M, these are all solid black plastic (aftermarket) inserts: http://www.trademotion.com/parts/200...mponent=Insert . I can get one of these from BMW dealership or from eBay all day long. Problem is finding the original factory one, like I have a picture of. tx.

I have the exact insert and problem finding a replacement.
Did you ever find an exact replacement?

For the time being, I used Velcro tape and placed at bottom of insert and in slot. When I press down, it stays in place.
Please let me know of any updates on finding the exact part.

Find the part number on real OEM. Then google search it

Are you asking about #8 or #9 in the diagram below? If yes, as mentioned by 335dsleeper...just look up the 11 digit BMW part number and then either order it from your local BMW dealership's parts department...or type "BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" (where x=the BMW part number) into a google search box to find online vendors. YOu can also use the BMW 11 digit part number on sites like eBay for new/used parts that are being sold.

There are 2 different part numbers depending on if you have the smoker pkg or not (#8 or #9):
