Ok so I had a look under the bumper and it is possible to feed the harness up through the grommet into the back fuse panel area but you would need a extra set of hands as it won't be easy. On my setup there seems to be a bit of room to reach the plugs for the comfort access connections but it would be a lot better if the bumper was removed.
There is another posting above with the PDF for the install of both hitch and harness that is dead on for the install.
Here are some pics I have of the Hitch.
Hope these help.
Looks like you bought a trailer too.

I have the invishitch and like it. Your set up looks sharp too.

Damn, I know the X is capable of towing, but if I saw that going down the freeway, I'd have to look twice! Looking good!

27ft, just finished a 2200 mile trip. I love the trailer, but the usual problems existing towing with the M. I find my self driving too fast. I need to find good mirror extenders too.

I did the install myself with the OEM electrical kit and BMW charged me $310
Canadian for the kit. I had the two wires that go into the fuse panel and the module programmed by Ecuprogram Performance Tuning in Calgary.

It will take you a lot longer than one day to drive from Alberta to Toronto

Thank you,

I was debating on getting those, but now that I know they are good I will buy a set.

I found them on ebay:

You should center the weight of the car over the 2 axles.
You can see in that pic how the front axle of the trailer is overloaded and i suppose your x5 has self leveling so it helps from sagging the x5 rear end.

I have a very similar setup... love the trailex.

I needed a bike rack for my boys since they are always wanting to bring their bikes everywhere. I got sick of carefully placing their bikes in the back. I found a used but unopened Curt Hitch on ebay for $125 shipped. Then bought an Allen Deluxe 4 bike rack for $100. Installed the Curt Hitch in about an hour. Great inexpensive solution for an SUV that didn't come with a hitch.

I think might not be a Curt hitch. Look slike the OEM hitch on a later model E70.

Anyone used the Stealth hitch?

https://stealthhitches.com/products/...2011-2012-2013

Looks pretty similar to some of the others mentioned in here, but I have a friend that knows the owner and am thinking of going for one of these. I will be towing 1800lb trailer and 2400lb race car + stuff

Nice work. Never seen an E70 OEM hitch that didn't require bumper cutting? Perhaps not the case on the pre-LCI rear bumper?

I’m hoping to install my Westfalia hitch on my ‘11 X5 m-sport, but I’m having trouble with removing the rear bumper.
All help will be much appreciated!
