X5 Future

With the creation of the X6, is BMW going to continue with the X5 or not?

why wouldn't they? invest hundreds of millions of dollars to develop it, release it, market it, and then kill it? doesn't make sense.

now, i can't wait to see the new M version... 500hp, yum!

most likely not. since it looks like the x6 is more of a crossover type of suv. i still dunno how big it is compare to an x5 tho.

its a little wider, a little longer, and a little shorter.

The X5 and X6 are for two really different markets. The X6 will be a low volume seller, and exotic version of the extremely successful X5. Without the X5 BMW wouldn't have a real SUV, even if they kept the X6.

A great analogy is thinking of the X5 as a 3series sedan and the X6 as a 3 series coupe -- dropping the more successful/practical sedan would make no sense.

It is really interesting that the X6 seems pretty compact and small in the pictures. I was pretty shocked when I saw the sheer size of that thing in Frankfurt. Its as guhe as an X5, the wheels look even bigger because of the shorter height, and the wider body looks stunning...

The design isn't that beautiful, but this thing will definitely be an eye cather. It makes people feel the presence

I think its going to be awesome. Especially the 4.4 twin turbo version. I live in Turkey and the roads in this country are f*cking terrible. I don't know how they manage it but even newly done roads aren't smooth here. So its impossible to blast with an m3 here; you have to be cautious all the time. But with the X6, it wont be a problem at all
