Looks very similar to the F10 M5 exhaust manifold (attached).

It makes me wonder how much power can be yielded with an F10 M5 exhaust manifold and turbo's vs. aftermarket exhaust manifold and modified turbos. From a cost standpoint aftermarket will still probably be the better solution.

Awesome! What kind of gas do you run? What causes the flames out back?

Unburnt fuel... you don't need to have anything special to do this. You can do it on any engine that uses gasoline/diesel. Tune it on the richer side and you have excess fuel which ignites when it comes in contact with the extremely high temperatures of exhaust gasses... I could do it on my 335 when we were tuning it.. and it happened sometimes when the temperature outside was twice as warm as when the car was initially tuned.

Thanks for droppin some knowledge. Does going catless with a rich tune cause the mufflers to burn up eventually?

Does this allow you to run more boost? Does it spool faster? Give us some feedback bro

Did you have the headers made or are they off the new M5?

These headers are from pp performance and not taken from an m5 but looks very similar as far as the downpipes they are pp performance cat-less
BMW is restricted to carbon law and wouldnt have them in their cars

Also I contacted a tuner in Germany and was told that these after market headers is an exact copy of m5 headers which the design was stolen from BMW perior to the release of m5 and was leaked to the tuning market ! Now I know other besides pp performance having it, however engine could go up to 740 HP but transmission is weak and max torque should not exceed 900

I thought they were exact M5 headers because of what is pressed or etched into the header. Looks like a part number of some sort?? What can we expect to pay for headers like this?

F10 M5 exhaust manifold part numbers:
11627843780 (cly 1,4,6,7) 949.21EUR ($1267USD)
11627843781 (cly 2,3,5,8) 949.21EUR ($1267USD)

Total Cost $2,534USD (1898.42EUR) + fee's, customs, taxes, shipping. Expect to pay around $3,000 after everything is said and done.
(I've seen some places want as much as $3346 just for the pair of manifolds)

You'll also need two gaskets (goes between the clyinder head and the manifold). Costs $71.84 for the pair (part # is 11627589106)

You'll also need two gaskets (goes between the manifold and the turbo's). Costs $21 for the pair (part # is 11657845076)

I also suggest replacing the gaskets for the connection between the turbo and downpipes, and the bolts for the exhaust manifold depending on the age/condition.

In terms of time, expect to spend 4-5hrs to do the exhaust manifold (just doing the downpipes takes a minimum of 3hrs). You'll also need basic tools, though you'll need an assortment of torx (or 8pt sockets) and hex sockets for a majority of the bolts. Its also a great time to either swap the turbo's and/or downpipes given you'll spend a minimum of 3-4hrs doing either modification in the future.

Have fun and enjoy the power. The spool up and top-end should feel improved, though won't be as dramatic unless you remove the catalysts and retune the maps.

If you want to modify the stock turbo's I suggest contacting Precision Turbo and they can offer a quote for custom (enlarged) billet compressor wheels and enlarged turbine housings or better flowing turbine wheels. It all depends if you want more top end power, mid-range power, or low-end power. I'd suggest going with a 2-4mm increase in the compressor wheel and increasing the a/r on the turbine housing by .20 for a decent improvement without going too wild. The cost should be reasonable, around $2-4k depending on what you ask for. The only limitation is you will need to either modify your factory turbo's or buy new versions to modify which will add an extra ~$4,800 to the bill.

Rboosted717....you rock buddy! Very good info. Have you installed these headers yet? Have you modified the turbos? Stock turbos are small and heat up quickly after 1 hard run....noticeable power drop afterwards, atleast in my experience.

Are you talking about 740whp or crank hp? Also I'm assuming 900Nm tq, which is about 660 ft/lbs.

Thanks for the clarification.

Guys I just ordered AA catless downpipes and software which . Are you guys saying if I install the headers from the new M5, i will have an additional increase in HP? Guys please clarify and how much HP will this M5 header add and is it a direct swap without any modifications? Please tell me as I am in NYC now so I can order them before I go back to ghana in 2weeks. thanks

From what I've been told its not a direct swap. It will bolt to the motor but needs some custom fab-work to fit the turbo's.
