So my current center caps looked a bit shitty to say the least. Was on eBay and found a set of four for $7 shipped. Couldn't beat it! The dealership wants $23 each. I will take my chances.

What the hell happened to them? How do you do that to center caps? In all my years of owning BMWs, I have never damaged a center cap?

Well it's very simple, I didn't do anything to them. The edges were bubbled and curling up. They have been on the car for 75k miles, wear and tear. There is no other explanation.

Lol totally, lots of the eBay ones are pad printed and the rain-X used in car washes actually acts like paint remover and attacks the surface ink.

Chevy badges had the same issue a while back and the gold paint would start coming off after a car wash. That was somewhat quickly resolved from the supplier.

Also theirs a slight amount of section on the OEM badges and you will feel the raised chrome sections where as some of the eBay ones are flat. Small differences.

Hope they last though. Their getting better all the time.

I was just saying some that's all, theirs plenty of fake copies out their. Sorry if you took it like I was attacking your set. Not my intention.

You may have bought some OE ones that someone had. I buy OE parts of eBay all the time. And save hundreds. Just the air filters alone save almost 100 bucks. And yes their OE BMW boxed filters that are 70% cheaper than the dealer.

But use caution the fake ones can still have BMW symbol and numbers as the people who copy have no problems copying that either, also the fakes have tabs that wrap around the sides. The true OEM ones won't have that and are made in Germany. At least mine are and their brand new. But if they last then who cares!
