How much does this fluid cost. Just took the x5d for a oxygen senser recall and they refilled the exhaust fluid. It was alittle low. Just curious how much this fluid costs.

Not long after I read your post, I got the error to refill the exhaust fluid. Funny how it says the mileage until it won't start.

DEF is DEF

Def is DEF no matter where you buy it. I buy 2 1/2 gallon jugs at O'reillys or Autozone for about 15 bucks. And a bonus tip; go on youtube for a video on how to convert a BMW liter DEF bottle (with the awesome shut off valve in the neck) into a funnel. It makes for a much cleaner fill experience.

This video shows the basic idea. It is not the video that I saw but I could not find that one again. When you cut the bottom off the BMW bottle, you will see a little bottle vent line pointing at your face. I attached a piece of flexible tubing on the end of the vent and pointed it back into the bottle so the vent spray goes back into the bottle and not into my face. Good luck.

Looks like in exactly 4 months I emptied the primary tank ... we do a lot of idling and extreme cold temps here prob making a difference
