BMW E70 X5 2008 HID Upgrade

I had a set of HID Angel Eye upgrades installed a couple of weeks back and from day one they never worked correctly. The driver side would not come on from time to time unless i turned off day time running and switched back on or turned auto lights of and back on again. The garage could not fiqure out what the problem was and in the end i have had them taken out and LED's put in which are not great, well no comparrison to the HID.
Does anyone know why this was happening?
or can anybody suggest a dealer that can supply the HID kit and install without this problem.
I don't want to keep driving 90 mins back and forth with a problem like i did with the last dealer.
Any help guys?????
