Thoughts on these rims?

Hey Guys,

I'm getting tired of my plain-jane but still in great shape 18 inch OEM rims on my X5 35i and looking for something a little nicer. The OEM 375 looks great to me but its price is a killer. What do you think of these much less costly 20 inch replicas?

cheers!

I don't have any experience with eBay/replica wheels, but it seems some people like them while others have had bad experiences. I'm just not an aftermarket guy so I'd go with the real thing...but this is your purchase.

With that said, Piet is selling his OEM 375's with tires for $2400. These replicas are $900 w/o tires. Depending on what tires you buy, you're getting real close to $2400 when it's all said and done. For a few hundred more you'd have OEM 21's, which you could always sell for good $ if you change your mind on them down the road. Just a thought. Love the 375 style though

Hop onto Google images and type that wheel style number in and I'm sure you'll find pics of those exact wheels installed.

I have had plenty of experience with replica rims, I had them on my E46 M3, My brother had them on his E46 325 and a cousin of mine had them on his 6 series. I would stay away from Replica rims at ALL costs. They bend VERY easily I have 3 sets sitting in a garage and majority are cracked. I had them fixed twice ALL 4!

The low price makes them SO enticing but they are very unreliable. Id imagine they're going to be just as bad on an SUV seeing as we drive these trucks in all conditions. IMHO (and i know its the more expensive route) but I would go with OEM if I could find them or a different brand name.

I had reps on my E53, ran them for over 2 years with multiple trips between Seattle and Reno without issue.

Looks like most ppl who don't recommend replicas are from NY, knowing NY roads, I can understand why

In my experience I had replicas on 3 cars for more than 10 years with not a single issue (knocking on wood) and I'm not that far away from NY.

I also had real BBS but that a different conversation
