I'll admit that on the X7 it looked disproportional. But it was a concept and I didn't believe it'd make it to market that large anyway.

That said, on this test mule, it is larger than the F15, but not comically so. I think its actually quite proprtional to the car. Larger, bolder, without looking rediculious.

Point is, while larger like the X7 Concept, it doesn't suffer the same end result. But just my:

Yea! I saw that too! I thought it was just maybe something off on the test mule.

Pretty cool if it happens though. I miss 4WS... haven't had it since my 4th gen Prelude

If the x5 looks as hideous as the x7, I'll have to look somewhere else to replace my E70.

Here you go on the Trailer Hitch question....this photo didn't make the cut on the set that went out the door. Thanks. PalBay

Those LED headlights look more "expensive" than the laser ones seen in the previous prototype imo.

Looks like BMW is in fact heading down the path of this "rat/gopher teeth" look for the front grills. Bummer. :

Looks more like a facelift rather than a new model alltogether. Judging from the pictures not much difference aesthetically vs the current F15, no?

Doesn't look so from the pics. For sure it will have new engines, new technology, new interiors, new entertainment system, etc. But the exterior visuals look pretty much the same, no?

Trinta Here are a few "Comparo" shots of the 3rd Gen X5 vs the new 4th Gen X5. Clearly the G05 X5 is a brand new ground up vehicle....Different Kidney Grille, Changed "D" pillar and Hofmeister Kink and different rocker panel design. Also....Shoulder line Crease...belt line is below the door handles on the G05 X5 vs at the door handles on the F15 X5. Also different rear hatch design on the G05 X5. Thanks. Palbay.

Thanks for the detailed info PalBay. I still would rather wait to see the final comercial model before judging. For instance I find it hard to believe that grill will make it to the final design. Anyway, my point is that one of the advantages of BMW vs Japanese brands and others alike is the continuity of their models for longer. If they are doing such a deep change as you say so soon, seems like a shortsighted strategy.

Well Well, now we also have the XXXL size coming soon to our line of cars available on a all sizes, The X8 -
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/n...al-range-rover

So long BMW, petty to screw up such a good success full brand by playing the volume and marketing game above what they stood for, Engineering perfection and attention to details.
Even the editor of BMW Car magazine is commenting on this size business with cars looking the same across the full range. I hope they spare the 3 series some dignity and not turn it into a medium 5 series.

I’m not sure what you’re complaining about, “same sausage different lengths” has been BMWs design for many decades.

I keep checking this post daily for updates.

Anyone know what show we should expect the G05 to be finally unveiled at?

I love the interior of the Q7, but I just can't get over how boring it looks. I'd take this over it, even if this turns out to be a X3 on steroids, with that same 7, 5, 6, X3/4 interior, which honestly looks boring AF, and they are using it everywhere.

Now, the Q8 looks badass, and prototypes show that it will be just like the concept. If BMW keeps doing this paste and copy trend, the X6 will have the same interior and front end as this, and a similar rear as the X4. There's no chance at all for the X6 against the Q8, especially with the A7's interior.

Agreed on the boring Q7 looks. Audi interiors are amazing but the exterior, especially on the slab sided Q7, leave me wanting much more.
