Suspension related loud squeak noise

Looking for help on noise identification, hopefully posting a video of a squeak noise that sounds like it is from metal rubbing. Coming from outside vehicle front, only happens when moving. Hoping if someone can at least help identify which parts to check, thanks

When I heard the sound the first thing that came up, is that it sounds like a bad interior fan.
Had a sound like that in one of my previus BMW’s.

But thats an easy check, set the fan to off and drive a bit. ik it’s gone you find the problem.

Otherwise check the front fan, and behind the wheels.

I does not sound like an Engine probleem to me.

Yes thanks it is not related to blower fan and seems to increase/decrease with how bumpy the road is but I'll check the rad fan to see if its rubbing blades

But also the end links from the stabalizor could be bone dry.

remove the weels and check all the sealing (grommets)* from the moving parts.

*can not find the correct English name for them sorry.

When my strut bearing went bad the strut itself was rubbing against the aluminum of that support structure. The rubber was torn up and shifted to one side.

That may be what is happening, I've narrowed the noise to what I guess would be the strut top nut in the engine bay side, looks like a bushing might have worn out or it moved? A better video and picture here if anyone can confirm I would appreciate, it is rubbing right where that metal flange is.

You need to remove the upper cover to see clearly the strut mount. It's 13-mm plastic nut (actually about 5 or 6) rotate them about 90 degrees (you'll see a notch in the plastic nut and an arrow in the base that must be aligned for it to lock in place). Then you'll have an unobstructed view of it and you can check your brake fluid while you are there!

Well I'm assuming that the noise is coming from metal on metal inside the strut mount, so what can I tell from that point? Wondering if a full strut kit might be best solution given this kind of noise or try to target individual bushings?

The top bushing on the strut mount is normally the one that goes bad first and you can get to it w/o taking the suspension apart. Just the upper covers like Jimoreno said. It's easy and cheap. That will help narrow it down at least.

While you're in there you'll be able to see if the strut mount is cracked or worn.

So doing strut mounts and insulators, it looks to be a total PIA dealing with the control arms forks, in some situations on youtube. Probably one of those YMMV depending on whether your suspension just wants to be difficult that day?
