First Problem with my X6
Had some weird steering issues on two different occasions in which the steering almost felt like it locked or was sticking. Took it in and they diagnosed and found out that the power steering fluid pump needed to be replaced. Part will be here on Monday and I should have my X6 back on Monday afternoon. Currently have 3165 miles.
They claim it is an easy repair and not that difficult to replace. I have a 2009 X6 xDrive 30i for loaner and I must say I am glad that I bought the X6 as it feels like an entirely different vehicle when you drive it and the body roll in the X5 is very noticeable where it is not in the X6 |

Thought I would update everyone. I had a faulty power steering pump that had to be replaced adn I must say it was not an easy job. If not in warranty job would have cost more than around $3k because to get to power steering pump they had to remove front bumper, remove intercooler and several other parts and since this was the first X6 they had worked on in their service department they took their time (2 days worth ) and 5 days in total while they waited for power steering pump to come in over weekend.
Everything seems to be fine now. |

I had exactly the same sensation just once, about a month ago making a slow right angle turn. Waiting for a recurrence to talk to the dealer. Any advice? |

Is that body roll that noticeable in the X5 compared to the X6? Is it the car body shape or a better suspension for the X6? Or both? I guess the X-drive sys is the same. . . but maybe they did something better in handling for the X6 and forgot to tell us
