maintenance schedule and tips

hello to all.... just purchased an 08 X5 with v8 and are very impressed with the machine. we've never had a bmw before, so we're not familiar with the maintenance schedule, if we should take it only to the dealer for service, etc.

Do any of you guys perform your own maintenance, oil changes, etc? any "how to" threads on the forum? any advice is greatly appreciated

Your car will tell you when it neds a service and should also automatically email your dealer.
