Can I Confirm all Options on a Used E70?

We are starting to look at some used x5's, and not everyone still has the original sticker. Is there a way (with the vin perhaps?) to figure out exactly what is on a car if you don't have the sticker? I'd rather not leave things to chance, some people don't know everything they have on their vehicles. Thanks!!

Yes you just need the last 7 of the VIN and then use a decoder. There's bmwvin.com or bmwarchive.org - both work the same.

It's not going to display as a window sticker would however…for example it's not going to say 'Cold Weather Package' but rather it will show headlight washers, rear heated seats, & heated steering wheel (all components of that package with some exceptions based on year/model) on separate line items - you'll have to know what components make up each package. The decoder will just spit out a long list of vehicle equipment along w/ the aligned code.

Feel free to post the last 7 of the VIN and there's members here who can translate that into a window sticker look.

Thanks. I like the sport activity trim, this isn't it. Maybe not a deal killer.

Correct, no Sport or M Sport package on this one. Those are pretty easy to distinguish based on the wheels. Not to mention both will have the black window trim whereas the base & Premium will have the chrome. I'd personally get a Sport or M Sport. Just my .02 though.

Also, I didn't realize there were three different audio options on the x5...I need to do some homework. I'm finally tired of our 18 year old minivan, looking for another more fun transport vehicle. Losing quite a bit of utility with the x5, but gaining some sport and features. Surprised how rapidly the x5 drops in resale value...

I actually didn't realize there were 3 sound systems for the 2011 35i - most of those have the base system (S645A - US Audio) or the optional Premium Sound Package (S677A). The Hi-Fi (S676A) is in-between and sounds pretty good. It's nearly identical to the Premium Sound, just no satellite radio and I think it's down 2 speakers in the very rear. Starting with 2012's, S645A was discarded on US spec X5's.

Yes, we came from a van too and you will lose a ton of cargo space, but obviously will be much more fun to drive. 2011's are the best buy for an LCI, obviously because they're the oldest, but also because none have a warranty. Many of the 2012's are now out of warranty as well, depending on in-service date.

The X5 in question, other than not having Sport Activity package, seems pretty well equipped.

It has most of the essential packages, but there are quite a few other packages and options available that it doesn't have, though many of these were not that common. Those that come to mind…

Sport or M Sport Package (both common)
Active Ventilated Seat Package (not common)
Premium Sound Package (common)
Active Steering
Adaptive Drive
Leather Dashboard
3rd Row Seating
Rear Seat Entertaiment
Active Cruise Control
Lane Departure Warning
Leather Dashboard
Side View Cameras

Thanks. I'd prefer sport activity, do not want third row. The rest are nice to have, but not critical.

Found what sounds like a really nice one in San Diego (I'm in Norcal so not too terrible). Basically has all options but sport activity, including a lot of the tech stuff. Also has had vanos and front drive shaft replaced under warranty...Likely I'll miss this one, wont' be able to get things lined up (ie, convince my wife) before this sells....76k miles, white/tan which is fine with me.

Really? The package on mine is Executive Technology Something. CPO. Has cameras under mirrors and front bumpers but I don't see anything thats "Executive" to me. Mine has everything on your list plus 3-4 more things.

Canadian spec vehicles like yours are a bit different package wise from the U.S. stuff.

You can use this site to build out an X5 of a particular year, and see what options were available, and what each package includes.

Probably right...in the US it's Base, Premium, Sport, and M Sport for the 35i. Not sure what is meant by 'small navigation' ?

Kinda of a clunky/confusing site at first but yes it looks accurate between year and model packages/options/prices. Thanks for posting.
