Any major problems with your 2007 X5?

Want to know more about 07 E70 before I pull the trigger.

Thanks

owner of a 07 E70 with the 30D engine for a year now.
It has pretty much all the extras you can imagine. HUD, adaptive drive, adaptive steering, panorama roof and the 3rd seat row.

I'ts a brilliant car.and enough of power.. especially the torque.
I test drove a 3.5i and i think the concept of a petrol engine does not match with a big heavy SUV. I relly love the insane torque when driving around the city.

I Only had one issue with the adaptive dampers so far. Only one sensor was replaced and the issue was sorted out.

Cheers

I bought my 07 CPO and it's been pretty solid so far. I had a couple things fixed under warranty. It's rarely in the shop and I've been pretty happy with it. CPO is definitely worth it if you can find one. I think it's just luck of the draw like any other car. I'm sure they fixed some things in the newer model years but probably not much has changed.

What's is your X5 current mileage ? Just out of curiosity?

Thanks

The one that I am looking at is about 73,000 miles on it, in great condition inside out...not sure how long it will last me

Yeah my dad would love an early model E70, but all the consumer reviews are giving it around 2.5 out of 5 stars, which is kind of discouraging.

I think my valve cover seals are going.....bit of oil on the ground tonight. I'll check tomorrow if I get a chance. (75,--- miles) Good thing I have a good seller/mechanic that will give me a deal, and a tune and code at the same time. And damn, 600 mile road trip to a beautiful historic city

Mine is a 2008 with 68K on it. No issues, just a lot of wear on the steering wheel (where the buttons are) but thats expected. Seats are in great shape along with really the whole car. No swirls on the paint, no fading, no rust. It's held up like a champ!

My dad's first X5 was a 2008 which he put 105K miles on. Only ever had major issues that required it being put on a flat-bed and taken to a dealership.

Kind of good to hear that, but doesn't like the flat bed though

Thanks, got mine yesterday, few things need to be fixed...second stage brake lights, tilt function on the passenger side mirror not working and the error on my Nav DVD player??

Going to the dealer to get a recall done...vacuum hose

Love the X5

I had an '07 4.8i for 30 months and 50,000 miles from new, very well equipped, not a single issue. Somewhat of a short period of time, but a lot of mileage (mostly highway) and no issues. Loved that vehicle.

I had a similar issue with my 07 X5 - they said Adaptive Sway Bar which I believe to be the same/similar as the Adaptive Damper. It was leaking so we replaced (in the middle of a road-trip so it was expensive). Other than that... great vehicle with little-to-no problems.

It was in the front passenger side. I don't have the paperwork with me but they said it was the "active sway bar"...? Cost me nearly $3,600!

I have 126,000km on the vehicle.

Holy cow...that's a lot of dough. Was it replaced by stealership? I hope I dont need that, cross my finger. So how do you know when you need one...I mean how you noticed it?

Yes, the dealer replaced. It was a good experience (except the price) so I didn't mind paying for the repair.

I received a "steering/suspension malfunction" in the iDrive display. I also noticed the passenger front wheel had black oil (or similar) leaked on it so obviously the reservoir or cable that has some form of hydraulic fluid failed. The vehicle drove normally.

I'm pretty sure it was discussed before... but does that SPORT button on the X5 actually do anything??? I can't feel any difference. My E92 M3 made a huge difference and even other BMW 3-series with a sport setting (F30) it made a big difference in overall throttle response and driving dynamics. On the E70 it seems like a placebo button LOL.
