view torque display...can't find

I searched the owners manual and found section regarding Xdrive torque and Dynamic Poerformance Control. I can view torque distribution on idrive screen but manual says cycling BC button brings this up (assuming on the dash display) anyone know what i am referring to?

Scottjays,

just toggle through your 'cluster'display' options & drive to individual wheel output will be displayed

Push the BC button @ the end of the stalk on the steering column. Display between the RPM & Speedomter dial will alternately display distance to refueling, average mph etc & individual wheel torque in segmented bars.

I have tried this but it does not show up. I pulled the actual 2011 owners manual and the same section that is in the 2010 online manual I have is slight modified. In the 2010 X owners manual it clearly states pressing BC allows wheel torque to display. the new 2011 manual does not state this. so I am guess this "feature" is not available on the 2011. I can see wheel torque arrows displayed on the idrive screen. just not between the RPM and Speedo... oh well

That sucks. Was a cool feature. Looks like I'll have to keep my eyes on the road now.

I have the 2010 X6M and it also will not display the wheel torque in the center display.
I guess they made a change, and never updated the manual. It seems that they figured the display on the iDrive screen was a better solution. It would be nice to have the option to display it in the center display also. If anyone knows a solution to this, please advise.

Place it where it's Useful. Back to the drawing Board...

Would be more useful if it was displayed in the HUD.
It's ancient/useless to put this kind of info in the dash/idrive, by the time u glance down, it's different,
It's suppose to be ULTIMATE driving machine!
I want to see that info while i'm drifting thru a turn!
U need this info when ur in a turn, which means u have to look @ the road to adjust steering depending on vehicle speed & angle of attack, & why would u look down to ur dash /idrive when ur in the middle of such a turn....Suppose u r entering a blind turn & a MOOSE or DEER is in the middle of the road, while u r looking @ the idrive to check which wheel has the most torque !!?? That would not be a happy occasion!

FYI, when I first got my X6 in 2008, the torque display would should some bars at zero power (stopped or foot off gas) then as power was applied the bars would increase.

A few months ago I got a software update and now no bars are displayed at all unless I am applying the gas.

Oh yeah, it would be great in the HUD. The HUD should be expanded to allow more selections of what is displayed.

Neat feature especially when cornering and watch the power shift in the rear wheels.
If you didn't have it how would you know DPC is working ?

Agreed. If it were on the HUD that would be epic. Not everyone has HUD though so it should be on both HUD and dash. IMO. I am sad this is missing. I did notice it missing from the ActiveHybrid I drove. Thought it was because of the Hybridness not because they deleted the feature.

Dash display is ancient!

Everything should be available on HUD display with voice command to display it in an instant whatever the driver requests. Or the whole idrive screen should be on HUD!
Get with it BMW we're in the video game / iphone age! Take it one step further then the new 750i dash!
