mirror mirror

Make sure u have the option of folding when car is in motion so if u find urself on a narrow street w/oncoming traffic, u can protect vs. damage!

Regards,
What you are referring to, is an aftermarket option that works when added to the folding function, that comes standard w/premium package.

Otherwise you have to fold them in manually once outside the car.

I hope this helps you.

There might be, but I have never seen it in the menu, and I doubt it.

Aftermarket! It is easy as heck to hit the button on your way out.

I fold in the outside mirrors on both my cars on the way out.

Thank you ALL ...
Yes..I have the option through the button..But I always forget doing that..specially at work (tight parking area)...I was thinking if there is a way to automate it when car is switched off (I have seen it in some other cars)

Someone told me its a setting that the BMW dealer can do when you bring it to your first service...I thought someone already did it/have tried it..

Anyways..Thanks again all..

Regards

What is a tech plug? Do you use the dealer tools or an aftermarket tool you can buy?

It is really sad all HUDs are the same yet BMW disabled features depending on model even though you paid for them.

Tech plug it's mean in existance plug for connection servis comp. Dealers use it as well. Hackers can read and modify needed regisres in different moduls of the car.

I think dilers can do it by usual diagnostic tools, but not responsible and may be don't have knowledges.

i had 'remoteKEY' bought from EAS and used it on E92 M3
it allows u to sync the mirror folding setting with the lock/unlock button from the remote
the module only show it will work for E81,82,87 E90,91,92 and E60,61
i am gonna shoot them an email to them to see if it would work on X5 and X6s

Hackers (specialists on SW and HW) make a money on this and don't disclose it for all. Try find the same locally, or organize trip for him from Russia to US

I'm pretty confident the module works fine, we just need to verify whether or not there is a separate control module for the mirrors.

At this time, it seems the 5-series is the only vehicle that behaves this way, and all that was needed was a different wiring harness.

folding mirrors

I think its safer to fold them in w/ key fob lock up button then to fold them w/ ignition. The latter leaves u blind to the rear once u shut off ignition. Dangerous in parallel parked x6 when u open the door w/ cyclists & traffic in the same direction passing.
Would be ideal if u can programme the key fob to fold mirrors & close the hatch !
