Damn If This Crap Doesn't Work! Anti-Brake Dust.

First, I am not affiliated with Armour All in the slightest! That said, I saw this commercial about this new "Anti-Brake Dust" wheel treatment. So, at the first opportunity, I decided to give it a try,...paying close attention to the instructions, etc. Especially the part about having "Clean / Dry Wheels". So this meant, wash the X5M one day and applying the treatment the next day,...providing it doesn't rain. If you have the means to 'completely dry your wheels', then you may apply as instructed the same day. Note, the drying process is 1 hour!

Now, I will only provide the number of miles I've driven my X5M since the first application and that is approximately 194 miles under the following conditions:

1) 38 miles to work - humid/hot dry roads
2) 31 miles from work to Herndon VA - humid/hotter dry roads
3) 36 miles from Herndon VA to home - humid/dry roads
4) 9 miles - errands run (yes,..my X5M does errand runs - humid/hot/dry road)
5) 80 miles - round-trip to Herndon VA and back home (rain soaked roads the entire trip to Herndon,...humid/dry roads on the return trip home)

The product is Armour All "OutLast" Brake Dust Repellent!

Note, Armour All claims their product will repel brake dust for up to 4 weeks! We shall see...

Here are images of all 4 wheels,...zero wipe-down,...nada! I've also included a few body pics to show the level of road slime during the heavy rain, etc.

Again,...I have zero affiliation with Armour All.

Lastly, as many of you know,...rain does not clean wheels,...especially "brake dust"!

You be the judge!

Stuff works great, I've been using it for a while. You can pick it up at pretty much any automotive department store...I always find it at Pepboys

Amazon has it in 7 ounce can for $14.95, or a 15 ounce can for $19.49.

Originally called ArmorAll "Wheel Protectant".
Great youtube demo out there.

I'd like to try this product. What can I use to get the VERY STUBBORN blackish residue out of the corners of my wheel before I do?
I've tried Griot's Garage highly rated product with diff brushes and a power washer. No dice.

I use this. Great to clean but no dust repellant that I can tell.

Thanks, ordered the Sonax from Amazon.
However it looks like I'll have to find the Armorall Brake Dust Repellent at Pep Boys or Advance Auto.

Yep works great

The Armor All stuff works great. I have the 20" sport 214 wheels and I can go about 10 days before dust really starts to show up. Before using this stuff I would wash the truck drive to the store and when I got back wheels were turning black already. Used to piss me off really bad, to the point that I was thinking of trading the X5 in just because of brake dust. Give it a try it really works.

I get mine from Walmart at 7.95 a bottle. I get three washes out of a bottle so I buy a bottle every month.

Sonax is a great wheel cleaner but don't misinterpret it as a repellant like the ArmourAll product.

Also, my personal suggestion is to just buy Sonax in bulk (169oz Container @ $75) as it will be far cheaper in the long run. Cleaning 20" wheels on a weekly or bi-monthly basis will deplete a bottle quicker than you may think.

No one ever said Sonax is a repellant-only that it's the best cleaner out there.
