New Member: E70 X5 M-Sport
Hey Guys,
I finally joined the dark side of BMW. Always been a fan of BMW but been a Mercedes guy. I had a CLS55 for 3 years but was getting old and over 125K miles on it. I sold it in November to get an Audi, which was probably biggest mistake of my life! My buddy is actually in Texas picking it up and should have it for the weekend! Let me know if there things I should look out for with these bad boys and ideas on mods. Thank you! |

If you're referring to the lack of LED coronas in your 2011, those weren't standard until 2012 models (some minor exceptions for the diesels). |

In builds of 2011's made starting in April have the LED coronas. So it was a change made to late model 2011's. So you can find some 2011's that have LED coronas from the factory. All 2012's and laters have them.

Right, which is why I noted in my last post there are some 'minor exceptions' - those being the last of the diesels. No 2011 35i/50i has LED coronas.

Although it has a lot of miles, you bought that for a good price. I ran the VIN and see a lot of nice options. You have the multi contour and ventilated seats, rear seat warmers, the pro audio option, and of course M Sport.
By the way, if you're interested, here is the car when it was previously sold in Texas about 20,000 miles ago. It certainly seems like it was in mint shape back then. Now it looks like someone went in there and just Armor All'd the entire damn truck! http://www.ecarone.com/web/vehicle_photos/6545830 |

Yeah man! I called them saying to detail the car again with NO ARMOR all. Just use clothes to wipe it all down. I paid $32k out the door with 2year warranty also

A set of black 333s would look fantastic on that car. Maybe painted reflectors and a black kidney grill if you're into that sort of thing too. Sweet ride either way though.

Way ahead of you.
I ordered black grilles and painted reflectors already. Looking for a nice set of wheels. I really like the 299 over the 333 though. I hear I need to get the rear wheels bored out or run a hubcentric spacer |

Correct. Same with the 300's. I ran the H&R spacers for my winter tires for a few months with no issues. I just don't trust anyone to bore out the wheel correctly.

Here's the difference - 2012 model year 35i/50i - build date started 4/11 2012 model year 35d - build date started 8/11 (or somewhere very close to that) Based on the above, you'd never find a 2011 35i/50i with LED coronas, while you will find some 2011 35d's with them - people on this forum have them. |

Dropped off the car at BMW today for the N63 campaign. Should have it back today or early tomorrow.
I got a 528i as a loaner, kind of disappointed but oh well. This dealer is on my shit list so they better give me some new goodies. |
