2011 X5 50i

Hey guys -

I currently own a 2008 E90 M3 and I'm thinking about adding a 2011 X5 50i to my stable to replace my Tundra. I have regretted not buying a 2009+ M3 for a while now so I want to make sure I don't make the same mistake and miss something with the X5. I tried to find a 'buyers guide' per-say but didn't see one.

Can anyone tell me if there are things to watch out for in the 2011? Reliability issues or missing something that the 2012-2013 have that's worth spending more money?

I know the F will be coming out soon but you can really get some 2011 at a good price and I'm not looking to break the bank.

Thanks in advance

We love our '11 x5 50i but every now and then it keeps having some annoying problems.

1. Battery discharge issues (happened twice)
2. Windshield wiper fluid all leaked out under the carpeting (happened in the first 4 months)
3. Engine coolant all leaked out (happened last week)

My Dad rocks an '11 X5 3.5d and absolutely loves it. Very minor issues and just regular maintenance.

I'd definitely find one with the full navigation and backup camera setup, you'll feel like you are in a command center there are so many cameras all over the truck.

Having drove it a few times I can say it rides nice, yet firm (and he doesnt have the sport package, only item he did not get). MPG on the highway is insane for such a heavy vehicle... 30-31 on average. low 20's in the city. The torque due to the diesel is neck snapping fun.
