Tasman 50i X6-V Spoke-Style 257 Wheel

Caught this 50i with the standard wheel package. This is the first non Sport Package 50i I've seen.Might help anybody w/ a 50i non Sport on order or just on the fence about which wheel package to go with.I really like the design of this wheel.......however.......IMO, anything short of the 20's on the X6 look like go-kart wheels.Sorry about the pic's,it was just about dark.Kidda weird to see an X6 w/o any X badging, esp after the offical launch.I will assume this is an early production model/tester.Thanks! Man Palbay I don't know how you find them, but you do. Great job again, I think I'll pull the badges off the side of my ordered x6 after seeing this. I will leave the back X6 though. Cheap

Palbay! Your correct. These are standard wheels. According to engineers and option coordinators, the wheels on the 50 were a big issue! Im assuming this maybe their decision and make the 20" optional or included in a package.

However, no badging on this because its a pre-production model!

Keep your eyes open, cause you will see quite a few of these pre-production 50 models zooming around. Maybe in mineral silver!! haha

Yes, it must be a pre production model, look at the size of those exaust pipes, they are huge, glad they did not go with that size. I like the shape of the pipes on the v8 a lot more than the 6. I would also like to see some type of areo kit. Can't wait for mine. Cheap

Hey Palbay,

Thanks for keeping the pictures flowing… always appreciated!

Next time you see a 50i, can you check the dash please? I’m still dying to find out if the 50s will be standard with the Leather Dash… my dealer just has no clue, and it seems that dealers are not allowed to speak to BMW directly – they only know what has been handed down in sales brochures and pamphlets… I’m not ordering my V8 until the leather dash issue is clear.

Also a note on wheels, (since you can see it so well in your pictures) – even the ‘standard’ 19” wheels are staggered. I noted earlier that I was worried that the smaller wheels (9” wide vs. 11” wide) would be inset in the rear… not the case: they staggered the rim offsets to push the 9” wide wheels out – so they look just as flush with the fender flare as the big 11” wide optional wheels / tires.

What this means however, is that there is NO TIRE ROTATION possible without actually pulling the rubber off the rims and doing it that way (for the standard 19” wheels)… So that pretty-much makes the 20” upgrade a no-brainer… they just look better, and you won’t see a big improvement in tire life (from properly rotating every 5K miles) with the 19” wheels… granted the 20s are more expensive… but they look SO TOUGH!!!

Morty, Appreciate the nice comments.I'll for sure be on the lookout for some 50i dash pic's and "eyeball analysis" in the event I can't get a good interior shot.Yep, those 20's on the X6 really add to the "ready to pounce" look of the X6. Thanks! PalBay

Morty: If the tires are Diamaris -- or similar -- you can't even do that as each tire has a designated inside and outside. (Although I'm not sure what would happen if you just ignored that.)
