How much did you end up getting it? and what was the mileage at purchase?

Im looking into two 2012 X5d as well. one is cpo with 24k miles and another is 41k miles with no cpo but warranty until 12/2016. they are not fully loaded but decent equip for me.

I paid $36,799 for a 2012 with 39k miles with warranty until 10/2016. Considering it was over $70k new, I think that was pretty fair. I was not able to find any others with all of the same options. Similar ones with slightly fewer options were at least $35k.

I called the local BMW dealer and was told that all service was included while it is under warranty, so I at least get a free oil change. It just had all of the brake pads replaced.

Btw, I love the automatic parking brake feature. I just got around to trying it out this morning.

Great price! Im looking to get the x5d myself but with lesser options than yours. Could you comment on the engine noise and performance?

Also, did you take it to the dealer and ask them if you can add additional warranty past your new car warranty period?

You can definitely buy the BMW extended warranty as long as it is under the original factory warranty. You can also add the service plan.

I think it's fairly quiet and has good low end performance. I need to get used to driving it for a while. I'll time the 0-60 performance when I get time. My meter timed my Trailblazer at 6.0.

You might want to do a nationwide search on CarMax. That's where I found my second best X5 option that I listed above. Their search makes it fairly easy to find specific options like HUD.

CarGurus.com is another good site, but I had problems searching for the exact options I wanted. It's a pain to keep running VINs through one of the decoder sites to see options. One of them temporarily banned me for running too many.

Drove 410 miles so far. Filled up for $41 for a fuel cost of $0.10 per mile. Trailblazer SS would have cost $0.18 per mile for premium gas. Not bad!

Only got 21 mpg on the first tank due to a LOT of idling while updating maps, figuring out settings, etc. The next tank should be a little better.

My wife consistently gets 25.5 mpg outta her 2012 X5d. Today diesel dropped another 10¢, to $2.39, and is now 20-30¢ cheaper than premium gas.

The 2LE package had mixed tires on 20's. Can I simply run 275/40/20's on the back with the rims in this package?

Also looking at Sport Activity package and Sport package. What are the options for these 2 together add up too? Thanks
