Water entering cabin under driver side carpet?

I was working on another project in our 2011 X5M and found that the carpet foam underneath the driver footwell was soaked. Carpet top is dry so who knows how long it has been that way until I just now caught it. Going to pull up the passenger carpet and see if it's wet too.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so what was the fix? Looks like it could be the sunroof drains or the evaporator core drains. Fully removing the carpet it a big job so would like to first check out what you guys have seen and remedied.

Same problem here. It was damp wet. cleaned it up and dried it out and have not noticed anything in the past month. It was only driver side front. I did check the a/c drain hoses both sides of the tranny) and they are clean of debris. If someone had this and found a resolution please do chime in!

Sunroof drains are the primary suspect, but check the drains under the hood under the windshield corners. There are rubber plugs at the bottom that get clogged easily.
Also, if you're not the first owner and the car had the windshield replaced, improper installation can cause leaks.

Update to the issue:

I pulled up the passenger side carpet and it was wet underneath as well. Turns out that the rear windshield washer hose is routed from the tank in the passenger side fender well through the cabin with the electrical harness, and it had sprung leaks. It is routed from the passenger side cable guide, across the inner firewall, around the driver side electrical loom, and along the wiring guide under the driver side carpet all the way to the rear. It is a small corrugated hose and seems very fragile. Probably why it sprung a leak.

It looks like a tech in the past had nicked them while working under both sides of the dash when retrofitting the LED headlights. I dried things out, fixed the leaks, and we'll see how it goes from here.

For the record, the usual suspects checked out OK. Good evap drains. Good sunroof drains. This was a weird one.

Somewhere in the past the rear door panel was off and the plastic liner replaced. The liner was not fully seated so water would run down the window, splash to the plastic and then run inside the car. I would see it dribble from underneath the panel.
After Winter I found it, there is a clean shot from the rear seats to the front footwell under the styrofoam panels under the carpet.
fyi, if it isn't the heater core nor roof drain.
