I've got the same issue unfortunately
I noticed that just one of them was stopping approx 1" from the 'home position' a couple of months ago and now the other one is doing the same. Local temps are dropping but nowhere near to freezing yet. It seems this isn't an uncommon problem but I can't find anyone who can confirm that they can be fixed by doing x-y-z or that they must be replaced. Has anyone got any pictures of the return mechanism (i'm guessing it's a spring)? Can the washer units be removed without removing the front bumper? Thanks in advance

Here's some info (and two of multiple pics) from the BMW TIS website...not sure if it helps...but at least its in the ball park. Click the link to go directly to the TIS website where there are instructions to explain what you see in the pics:

However, I'm not clear on whether I need to remove the bumper / wheel arch inner liners /undertray to get access to the nozzles. The TIS instructions don't specifically mention any of those items but I don't see how I can get access without removing something!

Thanks Qsilver7 you're a star.
I'm a little embarrassed to mention that I did see the note about removing the bumper trim but wrongly assumed it was referring to the trim on the top of the headlamp washer. I didn't even realize it was a link. Thanks again |
