X5 Glovebox won't stay closed?

Open to suggestions Water got into the connector for the computer thingy in the fuse box, so replacing that fixed some problems. However I suspect there's still a pin loose or corroded or something on the "blue" connector down there.

If I close the glovebox, then I can push the button and it opens (wow, but that was part of the problem fixed by replacing the thing down below)

However, if I let it sit, it opens itself after 10 seconds or so. I suspect that either the switch wire to the brain is loose/intermittent, or that the output to the glovebox motor is similarly loose.

Problem is, I don't know which wires to look for and where.

Oh, probably related, the glovebox light won't go out. Also wondering if there's a switch/wire sensor that tells it if the glovebox is closed?

TIA,
Shawn

If you pop the side panel on the dash off and look down against the outside lower edge of the dash you'll see the connector for the glovebox. It's about an inch wide and 1/4 inch thick
