Anyone knows what this pipe is for? part of vent? X5M

Question - is this supposed to be popped out (showing yellow plastic)?
this is driver-side right under the engine cover.

That connector is for the low fuel pressure line. Do not push the yellow piece in! If so there's a good chance for fuel will leak out. I had to replace the low fuel pressure hard-line and sensor which required pushing the yellow piece in to remove the hose.

Question is, is it normal that the yellow plastic is popped out? Thanks!

It is suppose to pop out or extend for it to be in a lock position. These are quick connects that you find common in pex pipes. Squeeze the yellow part back to remove fuel hose.
There should be a c-clip wedge between the grooves to keep it lock. Mine was missing so i just use zipties.

My '13 X5M vent pipe is getting replaced tomorrow under the warranty extension. Nearly stalled out this morning and got a failsafe prog. My local dealer said no problem and even gave me a loaner for the day. The job only pays the tech about 24 minutes for replacement which kind of sucks. If only we got the N63 extended warranty treatment. Thanks for the info!
