2012 BMW Steering Wheel and Shifter Wood Trim Installation Help
I have just ordered the BMW wood trim kits for the steering wheel and the shift knob for my 2012 X5 diesel. I will have them by the end of the week and was wondering if anyone knows if there is anything special about the installation of these trims.
Do I have to take anything apart to get them in or is it a simple snap in install??? Any help will be appreciated. These are genuine BMW parts. |

shiffter wood trim x5 70 2012 4d m sport
hi
that is what I found it on xbimmers post; **Yeah it's really simple. Just identify the ring underneath the gear stick and turn it clockwise from the 6 o click position to a 9 o click position. Once released with a aid of a BMW trim pryer or a flat screw driver head between the ring and the gear shift from the bottom and try to pull set the the gear knob trim. The parking button would also come out along the gear knob trim and and would have to attached back on the new trim with a double sided tape. These are from the BMW E70 workshop manual. Hope it helps for the both of you. ********** I had m shift gear knob installed now I ve attached the image ..( UK SPEC RHD) |
